Product Review:
Once, cold weather gear was bulky, uncomfortable and rather ugly. This Craghopper jacket is none of these things. It’s as light as a fluffy cloud to wear, but keeps out cruel cold winds with apparent ease.
I tested this jacked on a recent trip to Russia. The cuffs and hem both adjust, to keep you really snug. The waist length jacket is slightly fitted, so you don’t look too much like a Michelin man and is longer at the back, keeping out any persistent chills. There are ample pockets, an inside one, large enough for a map and two outside ones.
I don’t usually get on with hoods, but this one is different. It fits properly and when you pull the jacket zip right up to the chin, it stays on and doesn’t blow off. The fake fur trimmed hood also helps to keep light snow and driving rain off your face. If you don’t want the hood, it detaches easily.
It has all the Craghopper signature touches – discreet logo, pretty ribbon detailing and toggles on all the main zips. Despite being made from 90 per cent down, it will wash at 30 degrees.
Available in only two colours, they are both attractive – berry and deep purple.
