Product Review

It’s hard to find trousers that tick all my very demanding boxes, but these do. Firstly, I’m tall, so they are long enough. Secondly, I have sensitive skin irritated by rough, scratchy material, but these feel like silk. Thirdly, they are comfortable and are much warmer than the lightweight fabric would suggest. Most importantly perhaps, they are made from a permanent insect repellent fabric.

The trousers don’t feel too masculine, often a problem with walking gear: pale blue lining on the inside of the waist; neat, discreet logo; waist button tab is sturdily fixed by a ribbon instead of thread; plenty of bottom space, although only someone very slim would dare to provoke the question, “Does my bum look big in this?” by using the two zipped rear pockets. Decoration only, ladies. There are plenty of other pockets: a deep one on both the left hand and the right hand side; a lower pocket on the right hand side, secured by a button and below it, a smaller one, also button-secured.

The trousers convert to long shorts, but you’d have to remove your boots first. They are labelled left and right and zip on and off quite easily.

Don’t think these lightweight trousers are not up to some rough and tumble. I walked through quite challenging terrain with thorn bushes and the trousers performed well. They wash easily and dry quickly.
